Funerals

We offer you our sympathy for your loss. Grief is never easy and at St Peter’s we want to do all we can to support you at this difficult time and to help you plan a service to remember your loved one in an appropriate and personal way.

The first thing you need to do is to contact a local Funeral Director to let them know that you wish to have the funeral taken by a member of the clergy or lay readers at St Peters. They will then co-ordinate dates and times with all those who need to be involved. The minister taking the funeral service will then make arrangements to meet you and plan the service together with you.

You may wish to hold the service wholly at St Peters, a crematorium chapel, a municipal or private cemetery or a natural burial ground. Alternatively you can hold the service at St Peters followed by the Committal at the appropriate venue.
