The Chapter House at St Peter’s was built in 1982 and is attached to the main church. It provides a range of facilities including a fully functional kitchen suitable for catering for large groups and toilet facilities with full access for disabled visitors.
Many church groups and external organisations use the building to hold meetings, ballet classes, playgroups, birthday parties, art classes & exhibitions and social events (can seat 55 comfortably for sit down lunches and evening meals).
Situated on De Pary’s Avenue, during the day there is a car park opposite, metered parking on De Pary’s Avenue or free parking on Park Avenue (5-10 min walk). In the evenings you can also park in De Pary’s Avenue for free after 6.30pm. Outside the church there is a 20min unloading bay as well as disabled parking. Queen Street multi-storey offers 2 hours free parking all week.
The Church
The Church is also available for hire for concerts and events and is an excellent venue both in terms of the acoustics and the wonderful environment. The church itself is able to seat 150 people on traditional pews with chairs available for approximately 60 more. The side aisles are pew-free and can be used as exhibition space. You can also advertise your event or concert at the church as well as using the external railings.
