The suggestion of holding a Poetry Competition has finally come to fruition and we are looking forward to reading and hearing entries from school children across the Borough of Bedford.
The panel of judges includes two local poets, a local business person and the Archdeacon of Bedford who will have the opportunity of hearing the age-group finalists read their poems at the judging in the church in December. The selected winners of each of the age groups will read their poems as part of the Carol Service on December 19th and subsequently have them published in the St Peter’s Book of Poems, available early in 2020.
There is no entry fee and no restriction on style, although there is a limit to the poem of 12 – 24 lines and they must be the pupil’s own work and not previously published. We are looking forward to receiving entries submitted by email as listed on the entry form, up to the deadline of November 22nd.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
